River Man

'River Man'  was carved out of a very heavy piece of a yew tree I hauled out of the tidal mud from the Thames near Bermondsey in south-east London.

I got interested in one sculpture in the British Museum from Cyprus, and used this as a starting point for a series of wood sculptures.
