Notes

This work was never intended to be seen but the project got stalled or neglected back when I was living in Cornwall.  The idea was that I would make a number of sculptures that would be carefully sited (or dropped) in some of the deepest parts of the ocean.  I loved the idea of these pieces slowly sinking up to six miles into the profound dark, deep where water pressure and temperature reach extremes that would seem to prohibit life.

I like also the idea of these shapes and weights falling into the undifferentiated ooze of the sea floor, and even in that dark and cold disappearing further from view. Reluctant sculpture evading the furious gaze of the world.
