Bodies XV: Marathon

Not really an artwork at all. Just a collection of photos I took at the London Marathon in 2010. Not sure where else to put them for now.


The race was won by Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia with a time of 2:05:19 and the women's event by Liliya Shobukhov of Russia  with a time of 2:22:00. Both are pictured below.


It was very moving to see the grit and effort, and pain and concentration of the runners. I was standing at Blackfriars Bridge as the runners came up the incline from the very unlovely Upper Thames Street.
